I was talking with a friend last night, who reminded me of a really pointless, really stupid thing I used to do in high school - the drive-by. Now, lest you get confused, I wasn't a teenage gangsta. My drive-bys consisted of driving past the house of the boy I was crushing on at the moment. I wouldn't stop or anything. Sometimes it would be with friends; sometimes on my own. Just drive by. See, pointless.
Thinking about this again, I've wondered what I would have done if said crush was outside his house. Most likely, I would have tried to slide down, so as not to be in his line of sight, and hauled my butt out of there as fast as I could. How mortifying to have been caught. You're laughing because you did the same thing (or something similiar).
So, why even do the drive-by? I'm not exactly sure. Maybe I had a small hope that I would see the crush without being detected myself. Maybe I thought this forged some kind of connection (albeit very creepy and one-sided) between us. Maybe I had nothing better to do. Who knows? But didn't we all do dumb things like that when we were younger?
I am sooo glad I've matured and moved past doing dumb things when it comes to boys.

A quick drive-by

Yes, I'm laughing. Why? Because I did retarded things like that, too. I could probably still drive you right to Monica Martin's house.
Did I ever see her there? No, thank goodness.
I used to do this as well. Well, actually I did it for friends since I had the wheels. I remember blasting I Saw the Sign (does that age us or what?!?!) w/ a friend outside somone's house as we did the drive-by because she was trying to prove something to him.
