Excellent

I have a confession to make.

Ready? Okay.

I like Keanu Reeves. There. I said it. And I'm not ashamed.

I mean come on . . .

I know, I know. Sometimes, he can look like this:
But sometimes, he can look like this:

And, yes, I know that he is not known for his diversity, or even believability, as an actor. I don't care. I like him and, I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I first became aware of Mr. Reeves through a great . . . okay, a fun movie called "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" or "History made hilarious with two valley guys." I love this movie. Makes me laugh every time.

Then Keanu went on to try something a little more serious with some more action. And thus we have "Point Break" or "Keanu can talk just like himself and it's to his advantage" where he has one of the best character names ever - Johnny Utah. I liked him as the FBI agent going undercover as the surfer. I mean, come on, he was, like, one of the originals dudes.

And then he decided to make a movie with Sandra Bullock called "Speed" or "The movie that made Marie decide Keanu is Fuh-ine." Crew cut. Check. Tough cop attitude. Check. Awesome beefed up biceps. Oooh, check.

None of us make all the right choices in life. I like to think that's why Keanu made "A Walk in the Clouds" or "The only good thing in this film is Keanu in a military uniform." I have really never liked this movie, and yet, whenever it's on TV, I can't not watch it. {I realize I have this problem, but I'm not sure how to solve it. Oh well.} He's not a stellar actor to begin with, but put him in a vineyard and it gets worse. Much worse.

Of course, he got just about everyone's attention when he starred in the little-known Matrix triology. I was never into these movies like some other people, but you have to admit the fighting and action is pretty cool.

A more recent film of Keanu's that I will say I like, come what may, is "The Lakehouse" or "Let's see how many turtlenecks we can make Keanu wear in one movie." I understand that the plot has {multiple} holes and oodles of cheesiness. I don't care. I love it. I mean, they reference Persuasion in it. Keanu and Jane Austen? Love it.

For the rest of my life I will watch the movies Keanu makes. I can't help it. I may even end up seeing something totally bizarre but still love it.

So, admit it. Who (or what) is your guilty pleasure?

Well, I have to admit that I like Keanu as well. I first saw him in Babes in Toyland. So from there to the Lake House I have watched many a movie with Keanu in it.

But who are my guilty pleasures . . . for old school, Rock Hudson and Doris Day. (Side note: I wanted to be her when I grew up) Now it's Edward Norton and Hugh Jackman. But I also am chagrined to admit I really like Amanda Bines' movies.

I love that you came out of the closet. I'll admit that for about 4 straight years, I was hooked on Charmed. I know, I know, horrible, but my secret pleasure nonetheless. (I have since gotten help and been to counseling for my witchcraft fantasy and am proud to say that I am Shannon Dougherty free 658 days and counting)

Okay... I have a few ;0). I have to admit I like Kevin Costner. He has many similarities to Keanu but... ever since Robin Hood, I like him nonetheless. And I really like Viggo Mortensen. He's the best reason to watch Lord of the Rings. And, last but not least, Patrick Dempsey. Okay- my secrets are out ;0).

Miss Marie,

I'm me Candice. I mean "Robarge". I'm the one from El Dorado Hills looking at your blog and I LOVE IT. It makes me laugh AND I get a feel for being an adventurous traveler when I read about all you're doing! Now that I'm not pregnant (and grouchy/crazy/tired) anymore I think I'll start leaving comments instead of feeling like I'm anonymously ease dropping.
