Something at work today reminded me of the Penny cartoons {clay-toons?} on PeeWee's Playhouse. And it made me want to watch them again, so I thought I'd share one with you.
Happy Wednesday video clip!

Some day, some day, I will be on "The Amazing Race." It is by far my favorite reality show. The contestants get to travel all around the world, performing all sorts of tasks, all the while mingling with the different cultures they encounter. I love it.
And this season has been especially fun for me to watch because of these guys:
They are Jet and Cord, brothers from Oklahoma, who are known on the show as the Cowboys. Not only are they good racers, but they're good guys {which is what you want from cowboys, right?}. They play fair. They treat each other, as well as all those they encounter, respectfully. And they're just plain old cute. There was a point this season where I thought they'd be going home, and I about stopped watching. But. They made an INCREDIBLE comeback and are still racing. The last episode had me practically jumping off the couch in excitement for them. Mostly because part of it had to do with putting an outfit together at a fashion house, and not only did they do it, but it was such a kick in the pants to watch.

PORTIA
You see me, Lord Bassanio, where I stand,
Such as I am: though for myself alone
I would not be ambitious in my wish,
To wish for myself much better; yet, for you
I would be trebled twenty times myself;
A thousand times more fair, ten thousand times more rich;
That only to stand high in your account,
I might in virtue, beauties, livings, friends,
Exceed account; but the full sum of me
Is sum of something, which, to term in gross,
Is an unlesson'd girl, unschool'd, unpractised;
Happy in this, she is not yet so old
But she may learn; happier than this,
She is not bred so dull but she can learn;
Happiest of all is that her gentle spirit
Commits itself to yours to be directed,
As from her lord, her governor, her king.
Myself and what is mine to you and yours
Is now converted: but now I was the lord
Of this fair mansion, master of my servants,
Queen o'er myself: and even now, but now,
This house, these servants and this same myself
Are yours, my lord: I give them with this ring;
Which when you part from, lose, or give away,
Let it presage the ruin of your love
And be my vantage to exclaim on you.
-Act III, Scene ii
"The Merchant of Venice"
Thank you for writing such beautiful words and for creating such strong women to say them.
Happy birthday.

You're welcome.
And, yeah, did you know it's my pretend boyfriend's birthday? It's true. We should all celebrate by watching "Freaks & Geeks" or his best moments on SNL. Whatever you do, be sure to appreciate his fine-ness and funny-ness.

A year or so ago, I blogged about how my family doesn't really look a lot alike. I then used photographic evidence:
