May Your Days Be Merry & Bright

I was chatting with my soon-to-be 17 year old niece the other day, and she asked me what Santa was bringing me for Christmas.  I had to explain to her that as a single 30-something, Santa no longer makes visits to me {I think I hit the cut-off a few years ago}.  Nowadays I play Santa to myself.  But that doesn't mean that I don't have a great time at Christmas.

I love this time of year.  Love it.  There's great music to listen to, wonderful goodies (prepared by others) to eat, and you usually get to spend time with people who are important to you.  And yes, sometimes there are even presents, but as I've gotten older, even those have become less exciting for me.  I think I get a lot more enjoyment out of the things I get to do with people I love.  And some of those people aren't close enough for me to see {insert super sad face}.  So, I hope that wherever you are, whatever you are doing and whoever you are with, that you have a most wonderful and happy Christmas.

I have no reason to post these pictures {from the early 1980s, baby!}, except for the fact that I think they're funny and cute.  Merry Christmas!

"Little" sister might be a little bit off now.

I dare you to call her that.

What do you mean? I call her that all the time. She will always be the little sister.
