I'm sorry to have to say this, but it turns out I am a jewelry snob. It's true. Which is kind of weird since I don't even wear that much jewelry. And I don't think I'm obsessed with it either. I would much rather look at shoes or handbags than jewelry when I'm shopping. But as the holiday season and all of its horrible ads are now upon us, I've realized that most of of what I see advertised is crap.
I'm not going to name names or anything {mostly because I don't want to burn any bridges or inflict a lawsuit}, but I have seen more ugly jewelry advertised in the past couple of weeks than should be allowed. And don't shake your head like you don't know what I'm talking about. You know what tv commericals I mean. And everytime I see one, I wonder, 'Really? Are there really women who like and wear that stuff?'
And it's not like I'm some bitter girl who never got any jewelry and doesn't understand the idea of wearing something more because of its sentimental value than how it looks. I wore a necklace everyday for weeks simply because I cared about the guy who gave it to me. And it was ugly. But the thing is, we both knew it was ugly, and that's part of what made it okay.
Maybe I'm wrong on this, and everyone else thinks that stuff is great. And that's fine. I'm okay being a snob. Just know that if you were planning on getting me that black hills gold heart pendant with the rose in the middle or any other piece of nonsense you saw on a commercial, yes, I will in fact mock you for having such horrible taste. Especially when Tiffany & Co. has online shopping available, fool.

I totally agree! I don't understand why they show such crap and think that we would like to get it? I'm always telling Shayne, don't EVER buy that crap for me (not that he really buys me jewelery), but it is just too plain UGLY, especially to be in a commercial that should be enticing us to come in and buy it??
