Normally, the Emmys don't have the pull on me that the Oscars do. Not nearly the same drama, not nearly the range of superstars. And that was true again this year . . . until I looked at some of the dresses. And who doesn't want to look at pretty dresses?
So here are my favorites from last night. Click on the photos to enlarge.
Kate Winslet
What is Miss Kate doing at the Emmys? Well, she was in a mini-series that was nominated {but lost to another awesome (British) series}. So, of course she had to show up looking fabulous. Like she does.

Kaley Cuoco
I love the retro-ness of her dress. Plus, I'm always a sucker for black. And with the red accessories, it doesn't come off as too formal or stiff.
Aubrey Plaza
Not only is she on my current favorite comedy, she dresses well! This is classy and elegant but still age-appropriate. Love it. Love it all.
Evan Rachel Wood
Evan is not someone I usually look to as a fashion favorite, but I absolutely adore this gown. It's modest(!) and gorgeous. The beading is all over but not overdone. And while I usually don't love the structured-shoulder look, it looks fantastic here.
{And yes, the gown is probably backless, but let me dream that it's not}
Amy Poehler
This may not be the most stunning dress, but I think the color, especially the metallic sheen, is beautiful. And again, it has sleeves! And a high neck! And still works for the event. Bravo, Amy.
