I'm Crazy

Well, it's official. I am now officially crazy. For the past few years, I have enjoyed a good run now and then. I have done a fair number of 5Ks and even some half-marathons. Those are fun. You get outside, get some exercise, but don't kill yourself over finishing.

People have asked if I would ever do a full marathon, to which I have thrown my head back in laughter and replied that only crazy people do marathons. Only people who have no life and can devote most of their free time to training and want to make their body hurt in new and unusual ways do marathons. I am reasonable. I am sensible. I don't run marathons.

Until now.

My good friend, Megan, asked if I would enter the lottery for the St. George marathon, which is held in October. It seemed so far away. It seemed so unlikely that I'd get picked. What could possibly be the problem with just entering?

Um, that Megan and I would both be picked and now I have to be a crazy person with no life.

It's been nice knowing you.

You are crazy and awesome at the same time. And you will totally rock that marathon. Good luck!
