I'll Have What She's Having

I'm pretty sad that a stellar writer/director/producer has passed away. Nora Ephron has affected my life in a big way, especially since I consider romantic comedies some of the best movies to watch. And I love that she was such a success in a male-dominated industry.

It's because of her the following quotes are permanantly a part of me:

  • I was taking her hand to help her out of a car, and I knew. It was like . . . magic.
  • You're right. You're right. I know you're right.
  • Oh, no, she's beautiful, but she's a pill.
  • Shut up? Shut up? Mom never said shut up to me!
  • So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn't it be the other way around?
  • Tell me I'll never have to be out there again.
  • F-o-x
  •  I would have asked for your number, and I wouldn't have been able to wait twenty-four hours before calling you and saying, "Hey, how about . . . oh, how about some coffee or, you know, drinks or dinner or a movie . . . for as long as we both shall live?"
  • I just want to say that all this nothing has meant more to me than so many somethings.
  • I've been doing a lot of thinking, and the thing is, I love you.
Plus, she inspired one of my favorite past posts.

Farewell, Nora. Thanks for all the laughs about love.

Thanks for this post!

I may have to dig out some of those movies.
