Cowboys vs. Country

A friend came over to my house this weekend, and I happened to be watching a Western mini-series.  She was surprised that I liked that kind of thing.  I was a bit concerned that she didn't know that about me {because, really, that's important stuff}, so I explained that although I don't like country music or most modern-day cowboys, I love me some 1800s, dusty, cow-herding, six-shooting cowboys.  Maybe that's part of why I love horses so much.  Hmmm.

Anyway, to better illustrate my thoughts . . .

Yes:

And at the risk of offending people {not my intention}, no:

Because, really, is there a comparison?

So I have never heard this subject explained in these terms before but I wholeheartedly agree. And how unbelievably attractive is that photo of Christian Bale? Yowza.

There is NO comparison. A cool western movie? Yes. Country music? Woof.

Dasha - I know. I think seeing that photo made me fall back in love with him.

Natalie - I have never understood the appeal of Kenny. And it would take a miracle or the dying wish of a loved one to get me to a country music concert. But I respect your enjoyment of him.
